A Cyclops workspace is a saved description of a tmux session: windows, pane rows, relative sizes, working directories, and agent names.

Open a workspace

start is safe to run repeatedly. It builds or restores a missing session, but it does not rearrange a session that already exists. The shipped presets are solo, duo, quad, and ops. A preset is used only when no saved workspace or session already answers that name.

Save a session

The file lands in $CYCLOPS_HOME/workspaces/. Save records non-shell commands as optional launch hints but never runs them while saving.

Restore a workspace

Restore always creates a new tmux session. Add --launch only when you want the recorded commands to run; without it, restored panes start as shells.

Rename or release an agent name

Names live in Cyclops’ durable registry and in saved workspace files. Pane ids are deliberately not saved because tmux reuses them.

Remove a session

Cyclops has no kill command. Use tmux explicitly when you intend to destroy the processes in a session:
Stopping cyclopsd does not kill any tmux session.
